R.I.P. and Happy Birthday Lucio Dalla

Lucio Dalla, one of Italy's most prolific singer and songwriter, died on Thursday after suffering a heart attack of Montreaux in a hotel after eating breakfast. The artist, Whose music has-been sang by generations of Italians, was in Switzerland for His European concert.

Today, Sunday, would sono stati the artists' 69th birthday ... instead it will be His funeral. The function will be held in the From's native city Bologna at the San Petronio Basilica.

From the haunting melody's "Caruso" sold 9 million copies worldwide and was sung by the late opera great Luciano Pavarotti at a 1992 concert with Since in Modena.
